The FinScope survey tool has been developed by FinMark Trust as a nationally representative survey of consumer perceptions about financial services and issues. The survey is conducted among adults, defined as individuals aged 18 and above. To date, it has been rolled out in 18 countries including Mauritius.
The FinScope survey provides insights into how people source their income and manage their financial lives. It looks at the use of, and demand for financial products and services, as well as attitudes, vulnerability, coping behaviour and consumption patterns of individuals. The FinScope survey also explores the use of formal as well as informal financial products; hence helps build a valuable picture of the role that the formal and informal sectors play in a country?s financial market.
