Malawi country report presentation on the Status of Agricultural and Rural Financial Services in Southern Africa

FinMark Trust commissioned the Centre for Inclusive Banking in Africa (CIBA) at the University of Pretoria to design and oversee studies to document and evaluate the current state of agricultural and rural financial services in southern Africa, more specifically in Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The last phase of the project was to discuss the findings of the country reports and the innovations/best practices report with country stakeholders to support the identification and prioritization of areas for intervention and to help lay the foundations for initiatives to apply the lessons in Southern Africa.  To this end, FinMark Trust conducted workshops in Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe the outcomes of which will be used to guide FMT in planning and conducting its support for increasing financial inclusion in the region.
